Create a Game Room with Wooden Signs

Very few people have the luxury of planning a game room when they purchase their home.  But finally there comes a time when they realize they have an extra room that is not be used for much more than storing junk.  Why not make it a game room?  It can actually be a fun project for everyone in the house.  Let everyone come up with ideas on what theme should be used.  What should be put on the walls?   Probably some wooden signs, sports memorabilia, maybe some mirrors.  Anything you can think of to make it your own.

You must give some thought to what you want to be able to do in the room.  A pool table is always a great idea but make sure you have enough room.  Most small bedrooms will not be large enough.  But you can always find room for a card table, a dartboard and of course a really big television.  It takes a lot of thought to cover the walls in a game room but that can be fun.  Start with a few nice wooden signs that are unique to you family.  Maybe it depicts your favorite sports team and personalize it with your name.  Not only do you need a personalized sign displaying the name of your new game room but you can find wooden signs that are clever and maybe spell on some of the rules of the room.  Common ones are, tip the barkeep, no foul language unless Boston is winning, and the bartender is always right.  These are just some of the rules but feel free to create you own.

Take a ride to your favorite flea market and you will find some great bargains.  You will find all sorts of things to decorate the walls of you new game room.  Wooden signs that have cute saying and proverbs, old business signs and old street signs make for excellent ideas.  They will all brighten up the room and make it even nicer than your favorite sports bar.  Beyond the normal ones you will fine at the flea markets, get yourself a personalized sign with the name of the game room engraved or painted on it.  They always add that personal touch.  You might have to special order it but it is worth a few dollars compared to what it will add to the overall décor of you new room.

Well you are now finished.  The big screen is in place, the card table is ready, and the walls are adorned with all you wooden signs and sports gear.  Don’t forget to stock the bar with all your favorite beverages.  I prefer Miller Lite.  Pick up the phone and invite your friends and co-workers over and have a fabulous weekend.  Enjoy your new found space
