The Last Child is Gone! What to do with their room.

So, that morning finally arrives. The bitter sweet time when the youngest  has left the nest to strike out all by themselves. This is the time that folks have jokingly fantasized about for many years. It is now time to assert that additional room as soon as possible and reclaim your space. The question still remains however, what to do with it. Whether it's a sport room, or man cave adorned with custom wooden signs as well as perhaps a pool table? Maybe it should be an office or the den you've always wanted? A look at what could be involved can help you to produce the best decision.

Even though the thought of an office or den makes good practical sense, a sport room or man cave has a much greater appeal. One important point to bear in mind could be that the room can still be changed if the project is a bust. If nobody visits he room, or nobody magically appears to be keeping it clean then the den is the perfect idea. In the event that there simply isn't enough time in the day to relish a sport room, why not a home office could be more productive. For the sake of argument however, many people will pick the game room or man room. Let's face it. They are considerably more fun to set up.
Odds are the game room will win out on the man cave. Man caves are usually relegated to basements and garages anyway.  A great game room may also be used as a man cave at the appropriate time.

Your game room will need some elementary decorations.  Empty out the room so that you have a clean slate to begin from. If your tavern theme will be the goal, begin with the walls. To start you will need a whole new coat of paint to exhibit all your antique personalized signs. If your budget allows, simulated wood paneling, or actual tongue and groove pine will add a true genuine feel for the walls.

Produce a short list of all of the games you will probably find yourself playing. A fantastic sized LCD screen will offer you a place to try out video games, and observe television or movies. No game room is completed without an actual regulation dart board, and certainly a gaming table for cards and board games is a must. Beyond the fundamentals, what games you decide to make available in the room will be determined by the available space.

You need to have as much fun that you can using the decor. Create a great reputation for a new game room and also have a custom personalized wooden signs designed to hang on the bar. Visit local flea markets, antique stores, and shop auctions for interesting pieces that can fit your theme. Don't treat this as if you were furnishing an official family area. Have fun with it.

Oh shoot, you waited too much time! Your son is out of money and moving back!
